Transformation from barn to bar

Oregon-based company Sommi Wine Cellars specializes in exclusive wine storage solutions and combines modern technology on the inside with handcrafted wood on the exterior. One of their clients asked them to create a unique wine bar using 100-year-old barn wood to protect and display a collection of rare bottles.

The wood for the project was reclaimed from the client’s family property in Oregon. To make the journey from Oregon to the customer’s apartment in Las Vegas, the bar had to be built in sections to manoeuvre past obstacles of elevators and narrow doorways. As a Sommi signature, hand-forged steel hardware has been used for handles and latches as well as the impressive beams for the stemware rack.

A unique bar to fit a unique collection

The bar is accessible from both sides and houses 153 bottles in the refrigerated compartments, while stemware for everything from Champagne to Pinot Noir can be safely stashed above. The customized solution is the result of true craftmanship and it turned out so well, that Sommi decided to add it to the existing Credenza Series.
