Let’s face it, the standard Ford GT isn’t boring in any way and the same goes for Ford Performance! They have sent the GT back to the workshop and have come up with several updates to their supercar, now with the deserved unofficial title: “2020 Ford GT Liquid Carbon”.
More power and better cooling
The upgrade gives a mild increase in power of 13 horsepower. This results in a total of 660 HP delivered from their 3.5 liters EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 engine. To accommodate the extra performance and make the car even more bulletproof on track, improvements have been made to the cooling system with new air intakes. This should increase overall cooling by up to 50%.
New color… or lack of it
The updated Ford GT comes in two new colors. One of these options is though, no paint! It’s all exposed beautiful carbon fiber with a protective clear coat. Also, the Ford GT Liquid Carbon features carbon fiber wheels as standard equipment.
“This next chapter in the Ford GT story allows us to fully demonstrate our mastery in both the art and science of carbon fiber craftsmanship and finishing,” said Angus Smith, General Manager of Multimatic Niche Vehicles, North America.
More sound
Oh, not to forget: Ford Performance has now chosen Akrapovic as ‘partner in crime’ when it comes to the exhaust system on the Ford GT. This means you’ll get a full titanium exhaust system as standard equipment and it saves you nine-pound. Ford has already begun the delivery of the upgraded 2020 Ford GT, and production is scheduled to run until 2022.
