OPINARI tested different types of leather for their driving gloves before deciding on the Peccary leather. The choice was made due to the amazing qualities of the Peccary leather and to ensure you can have your gloves for decades! Peccary leather is slightly thicker and is known for its great elasticity while being extremely strong and durable.
The leather originates from the Peccary, a wild animal (related to wild boar and warthog) living in South America. The leather can be recognized from the soft grainy surface with visible hair pores in groups of three. As a witness to the wild origin of the material, the leather has natural scratches and scarring from when the animal ran through the bushes of Peru or Argentina. And don’t worry about the sourcing of the material: OPINARI is taking care that the leather is coming only from controlled and sustainable sources.
