If you love the look of a classic Land Rover…but are considering a more eco-friendly option, the electric Defender by ECD Automotive Design might just be your perfect option. Check out this amazing E-Lander – the first with a Tesla drivetrain in the US!
The perfect option for Defender enthusiasts
There is something truly special about driving a classic vehicle – and for some of us, nothing beats the feeling of being in a majestic 4×4. Since its introduction, more than two million Defenders have been produced and it is of course also the British Queen’s favorite! The only downside to driving these big vehicles is of course the fuel consumption. But, there is a solution to that where you keep the classic look of the iconic Land Rover but get the benefits of a modern electric car.
“We cannot wait to release the electric Defender as an environmentally-friendly version of an iconic vehicle”
– Tom Humble, founder of ECD
Classic on the outside – electric on the inside
ECD Automotive Design has partnered up with Electric Classic Cars (ECC) in order to make one of a kind classic Land Rovers with Tesla drivetrains. A common passion for classic vehicles has inspired them to bring the iconic 4×4 into the 21st century in terms of performance and environmental impact. With their new electric Defender, the “E-Lander”, customers will be able to customize every part of their dream car – and choose how powerful it should be. 450 bhp will make the Defender go 0-60 in under 5 seconds, while the upgrade to 600 bhp will reduce that to the 3-second range!
Can you go electric off-road?
Yes, you can! The builders have worked hard to ensure the electric Tesla drivetrain will still reach its full potential in the heavier and less aerodynamic Land Rovers. The result is a versatile car with excellent off-road capabilities, superb power and all controls/set-ups you would expect from a true 4×4. In addition, the finish and quality of the handmade solutions add a luxurious touch which you can enjoy while driving in silence.
